FIELD AUDITOR

POSITION

As a field auditor you will be required to use a portable computer mounted in your company vehicle. The tablet will have proprietary mapping and data collection software with an integrated GPS locating system. 

We map the location of poles to which electric companies have attachments and collect various attributes associated with the poles. Our work is spread out over the region with travel in both rural and urban areas required. Typically, you will be able to ride pole-to-pole and identify the location of each pole based on electronic maps provided. Occasionally poles are not accessible roadside and employees will have to exit their vehicle for a bit of a walk.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel almost 100% of the time (travel home most weekends on long assignments)
  • Must be able to work in the U.S., we will verify this through E-Verify as required by law
  • A pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check are required prior to the start of employment. Additionally, periodic drug screenings are taken on a random basis. Failure to test or a failed screening will result in immediate dismissal with no consideration for rehire. 
  • Clean driving record of five years and a valid US driver’s license are required

BENEFITS

Salary

The salary range for this position is $40k–$80k per year based on experience, performance, and location of projects.

Health Insurance

Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance are available after 90 days of employment. VentureSum pays the majority of the health insurance premium. Family coverage is also available if needed. Vision and Dental are optional and are paid for via payroll deductions.

Paid Expenses

All work expenses including hotels, meals, airline tickets, cell phone, fuel, vehicle maintenance, etc., is paid for by VentureSum via a company issued credit card.

Flexible Work Schedule

We understand that life happens, so we work with you to accommodate family events, vacations, etc., into your work schedule.

Optional Paid Overtime

We never require that you work overtime. However if you would like to take on additional work hours, you will be well compensated for it.

Eleven Paid Holidays

Family time is important to us, so you will receive two paid holidays at Thanksgiving and three at Christmas every year.

Company Vehicle

All field auditors are provided with a 4×4 Toyota Tacoma or a Toyota 4-Runner.

Travel

Explore the country throughout the year while you visually inspect utility assets.

Life Insurance

Life insurance is provided by VentureSum.

Disability and Accident Insurance

This is an optional insurance that is paid for via payroll deductions.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Take the assessment. This assessment takes about 2 hours to complete and must be completed in one sitting. Please take your time completing the assessment and remember that your “likes” are just as important as your “dislikes.” This assessment is vital to our application process and while it isn’t required to take, it is highly recommended. While you may still be invited to the field test, our most successful candidates take the assessment to ensure they will be a good fit for the position prior to the field test. 
  • If your assessment results indicate that you fit our job profile, we will ask permission to pull a Motor Vehicle Report on you; this provides us information about your driving record and if you have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Pending your driving record, you will be invited in to take a field assessment at our Harrisburg, NC office. Information for the assessment:    
    • Candidate must provide their own vehicle for the assessment.
    • If travel is required to the training venue, all travel expenses must be paid by the candidate.
    • The field assessment includes some outside work. The candidate must agree to assume all personal risks while joining us during this part of the interview.
    • Classroom training will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
    • In-field training will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    • VentureSum will provide lunch for all candidates.
    • The afternoon session allows candidates to show us what they have learned. The field test includes executing the skills that you learn in the morning classes and typically takes 3 to 4 hours to complete.
